Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Our complaint is about our son's century smart move car seat. it's manufactured date is 05/14/97 and the model # is 4765fox. we have been using this car seat for under 2 years thus far and rarely ever remove it from our ford expedition. out of the blue, the arm of the shield on the right hand side (looking @ it from behind) broke free from the screw holding it in place. because of the fact that they screw a metal screw into plastic threads the car seat is now unable to be repaired. we called and reported the problem to century and they told us that since we have owned it for more than 1 year they are not responsible for repairing it and that there is no way of repairing it. we asked if we could order the parts to repair it and they said no. we purchased this particular car seat because it was the best one money could buy and the biggest and strongest looking one. child safety is our # 1 concern and we are now stuck with a very costly car seat that does not work. century told us that they will only repair it if there has been a recall on it. we also want to add that this particular car seat has been extremely difficult to snap into the locking mechanism from day one. we literally have to climb into our vehicle to put all of our weight down in order to fasten it down into place. needless to say we are extremely dissappointed in our car seat and feel totally ripped off. we had not planned on having to purchase 2 car seats for 1 baby, this is totally absurd. thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to read this complaint. please let us know what we can do, if anything. *ak |
