| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: The tires judder at 60 mph and alignment and balancing do not correct the problem. the service manager at the dealership where i purchased the car used last summer, said it was "runout" on the tires, which i have never heard of and can find no reference to. the tread is still good in terms of depth and wear. what i suspect is that the tread design, which is for mud & snow, does not do well at highway speeds. i suspect there is a local "push-pull" phenomenom in the tread because of pad design. this may be great at mud & snow at lower speeds, but this apparently sets up the judder or vibration at about 60 mph. eventually this may cause stress fracture of the tread and tire failure and possibly blowout. this model tire needs to be checked out as well as others. i plan to replace these tires shortly, i am driving a bit slower in the meanwhile. if you want these tires to test, let me know.( dot number: hymo r38 tire size: p205/70r15 ) |
