Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Gas pedal folded over at approx a 90 degree angle, towards driver when driver was attempting to back out of a driveway. since there was no support available for the foot to rest on, the foot slid off the gas pedal, sideways toward the brake. durning the foot sliding, tip of shoe caught small part of gas pedal still attached causing car to surge resulting in collision of parked car with right rear bumper of neon. gas pedal at this time was noted to have split/broke at exact same spot on outside of gas pedal, by brake, and inside of gas pedal near consol. both splits are right above where small screws connect a very thin, plastic gas pedal to metal rod at bottom 1/4 of pedal. dodge dealer insist this break was done intentionally by a human . yet they also insist that this part was near impossible to break. wow i have a very strong 16 yr old daughter ! i thank god that she was only backing out of a driveway when this happened and not driving down the freeway. car had been driven 3 times only when this occured.. *ak |
