| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I am filing a complaint against nhtsa for permitting many automobile manufacturers to utilize so-called high-brightness arc-lamps on passengers vehicles. these lamps cause temporary blindness and unwarranted glare for older drivers such as myself. this is an especial problem when the arc-lamp equipped vehicle comes over a hill or hits a bump in the road. the point source nature of these lamps results in much loss of vision in dark areas within the field of vision because of scatter due to age hardening of the crystalline lenses of the eye structure. i am an injured party ( i believe there are many thousands) since these lamps diminish the ability to drive at night. i recommend that they be outlawed as a safety hazard. i am a 63 year old optical engineer and hope to continue driving for many more years to come.*ak |
