Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: The vehicle was weighed with a medium sized vehicle in tow and the weight was 12140, as per gm the trucks max gvw rating is 11,000, the vehicle was being used overweight of specs which caused premature brake wear, the vehicle was sold to the consumer with the understanding that the vehicle would be used as a tow truck, the consumer believes that gm is selling trucks with wrecker provisions but are too light to be tow trucks or they are selling trucks with defective brake systems, on one occasion the vehicle brake pedal went to the floor while the driver was braking and failed causing the truck to rear end another vehicle. nlm
