| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Previous tracking #719403. this is additional information to this compliant. our insurance company hired a well respected fire investigation company to determine the cause of the fire. their initial report determined the starting point of the fire is a box located on the bottom of the chassis. they also list this box as the cause of the fire. we are working with them to determine the exact name and function of this box. the box is located on the very bottom of the coach under the drivers seat and has wires running into it. the cause of the fire was officially determined by the fire investigator to be product failure of this box. a engineer has been assigned to determine the exact name and function of this box. i called the manufacturer to find out the function and name of this box and they couldn't give me an exact name, but said it probably was a junction box controlling the wiring for the chassis. the fire investigation company plans to obtain the wiring scematics from the manufacturer. the loss is listed as a product defect. the investigator mentioned the placement of this box was very poor design. its on the very bottom of the chasis where road dirt, mud and water can get to all the electrical wires running into it with no provisions for protecting it against the elements. *ak |
