Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: On listed date i was operating my air conditioner unit on my travel trailer while on a camping trip with my family. my family and myself went to bed with the unit running and when we awoke the next morning there was no power inside the travel trailer and the air conditioner was off. i contacted coachmen rv and they had me check the circuit breakers, fuses and external power supply. all of these were operational but there still was no power. coachmen told me the vehicle needed to be brought in for service. later that day i was looking under the sink at the rear of the trailer and i observed a junction box that was before the power converter center. the top of the metal box was singed black. i removed the cover and discovered that the white wire and black wire inside the box had melted and shorted out. this short could have easily started a fire and injured or killed my family. there are no circuit breakers before this junction box that could have tripped. my travel trailer has only been used about nine times for short camping trips. *ak |
