| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: We were towing our 18ft boat up a hill near a lake in san diego when we experienced complete engine/power/brake failure on a hill with no guard rail. the weight of the boat pulled us backward out of control until we jacknifed to the left into the side of the hill which held us in place until the park rangers towed us out. if we had jacknifed to the right, our entire family would have been pulled over the edge of the hill and down a cliff. all brake systems failed (foot and emergency) and the engine could not pull the weight of the trailer/boat. the trailer/boat were well within the manufactuer's guidlines for towing capacity of 3,500 lbs. |
