| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Engine exhibited symptoms of starting hard when hot or stalling with no warning. the ses light would come on and the codes 17, 18, 35 & 36 were stored. dealer was contacted regarding this and truck was at dealer for 3 appointments but did not resolve problem. these codes almost always indicate a failing fuel injection pump and calls to customer relations line asking why nothing was being done to change the fuel injection pump didn't get anywhere. a case number was assigned. all visits to the dealer were during the warranty period. a trip following the last visit to the dealership nearly resulted in a rear end collision on and interstate as the truck stalled in heavy traffic. i purchased a new gm fuel injection pump and installed it myself and resolved the problem completely. gm has since reinstated the warranty for this problem on several trucks including mine. i am submitting a request for a refund for my losses.*ak |
