Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: A rattling/grinding noise comes from the transmission when in neutral. when brought to the dealer, they replaced the throw-out bearing. noise reoccured 2 days later and was brought back to the dealer. the dealership claimed they spoke to the engineers at the daimler chrysler manufacturer and the engineers stated that the noise was due to a manufacturing design change of the transmission in the 2000 jeep wranglers and that they used a new transmission oil which is thinner and when the car warms up the oil becomes even thinner and causes the rattling. the dealership also stated that the noise is normal.*ak |
