Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: The motorhome has been driven 1,118 since purchased, all driving by owner. from purchase date, the abs warning lamp on the instrument cluster has been intermittently lighted much of the time while driving. the vehicle exhibited uneven wear of the front tires, of a type associated with toe out of the front wheels. at odometer reading 003885, front wheel toe was measured at three quarters of one inch (.075") toe out. toe was reset to three thirty seconds of one inch (.093") toe in. at odometer reading 004395, tires were rotated. upon removal of the left front wheel, the signal wire at the abs wheel rotation sensor was examined. it was found that the wire was routed to enable it to contact the outside edge of the disc brake rotor, and had been severely abraded by same. the rotor had worn through the outer insulation and halfway through the inner copper conductor. the conductor was able to intermittently contact the rotor, and was in contact with same at time of inspection. the wire was moved slightly away from the rotor and secured in position. the abs warning lamp has since remained extinguished while driving, lighting momentarily during engine start, as is normal. it is the opinion of the owner that excessive toe out and abrasion of the abs sensor wire are safety defects with possible serious consequences. *ak
