| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I bought the car used in october of '99. the previous owner had replaced the transmision and transfer case. in july of '00 i had to replace the output shaft on the transmission (at a cost of $1100) because of failure. in september of '00 i was driving out of my apartment complex driveway doing about 5 mph when the gears of the transfer case shot out the side of the housing and all 4 wheels locked up. had i been driving at highway speeds and this happened the results would've been a lot worse. this is a common problem with these cars as well as the dodge stealth twin turbo models from '91 - '96. in my honest opinion all twin turbo 3000gt's and stealths should have the transmission and transfer case replaced as part of a recall or for those of us who have already spent the money to replace them should be reimbursed. thanks for your time, phil j. hosner |
