Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: 2000 silverado 4 wheel drive vin 2gcek19t6y13xxxxx rear brakes corrode every 8,000 miles to the point of being totally ineffective at stopping the vehicle. also parking brakes require readjustment at 8,000 miles because they wear out not even being used. this i see was a recall for manual transmissions, automatic transmissions suffer the same problem but no recall.nhtsa recall#05v1610000.the rear brake pads wear out every 30,000 miles the front brake pads every 100,000 miles this i believe is the cause of many vehicle accidents ,this is because the vehicle is only being stopped by one set of brakes which causes the abs to come on prematurely.this all started in the year 2000 and still continues today november 2006. *nm |
