| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Driver seatback failed completely to the rear. seat back had over time progressively tilted further rearward, and adjustment was not possible to compensate. the right-most rail connected to the adjusting ratchet is cleanly broken, as if hacksawed. it likely was slowly cracking, resulting in the seat back tilting further rear-ward over several months. the metal crack itself is near a protrusion in the rail itself, about halfway towards the front, obviously a weak point (but normal usage?). a cursory web search found about a half-dozen similar incidents. i plan to contact the dealer/zone rep asap; this is clearly not a normal wear and tear issue. thanks.*ak |
