Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Tire failure resulted from tread separating in its entirety from the tire carcass. this was preceeded by a brief period of heavy vibration, followed by loud banging noises from the flailing tread, and finally, when the tread separated, deflatoin of the tire carcass. there are no punture or damage evident, and the remains have been checked by both a michelin tire dealer and the chevrolet (selling) dealer. there is no history of damage to this or any of the tires on the vehicle. tire pressure was checked approximately one week prior to this incident. inflation pressures were used according to the manufacturers range of pressures, and were set at 50psi front and 60psi rear. the speed at which the destructive delamination occurred was approximately 65mph, and weather conditions were approximately 60 degrees f and clear. travel was on interstate 10. *ak (dot number: v611b1a108 tiresize: 2.45/75/16)
