| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Traveling west on i-40 in oklahoma going 75 mph when right rear tire blew out. pulling to right side of road safely and quickly as i could. after existing the vehicle and discovering that the sidewall separated from the tire completly. i am taking tire to firestone on 23 apr 2001 to see what they are going to do. i did not hit or run over anything when this blowout happened. i wanted you to be beware of this situation since it is another firestone tire side wall seperation. i could not find any recalls on this tires even though ford insure me these tires were not part of the last recall. if you can shed any light on this tire or what other precautions i should take would be appreciated. right now i will not travel anymore long distances until i have firestone replace all my tires. i have had blow outs before but not one when the whole sidewall comes off. there are no punctures on the tread side or sidewall. *ak (dot number: db647p 604 tiresize: lt26575r16) |
