Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: After backing out of a parking space, the vehicle auto-accelerated when the transmission selector was placed into the 'drive' position. to avoid a head on collision (the vehicle accelerated to a high rate of speed) the steering wheel was turned toward the left. the result was the striking of the bumper area of three parked vehicles, one of which suffered some rear fender damage. damage to my vehicle was severe; however, the air bag failed to activate. this was not the first incident of 'auto-acceleration'. it occured when the vehicle was new. the vehicle was taken to and remained at the dealership for approximately one-week, but no fault was found. *akmore recently, the vehicle continued to increse in speed although no force was applied to the accelerator. in these cases, there was sufficient time so no damage was done. |
