| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Five tires are original equiptment at time of purchase. the tire that failed was only in use since aproximately january 27, 2001. the mileage on the spare is under 6000 of daily city driving and about five trips of over 240 miles. the failed tire lost its entire tread like a banana peeling on a california interstate 5 northbound and was not recovered. the tread caused damage to the right front wheel well and bumper and right door panel. for reasons that only our god almighty knows, the tire did not blow out and the steel thread held in place. neither the honda dealership or bridgestone dealer at sears store had any warnings on this bridgestone tire model experiencing tread separation. i have done some limited internet checking regarding firestone/bridgestone tires but have not found this model on any list as yet. i share this information so that if any other incidents with this model arise or have already been shared, this product should be scrutinezed for safety hazard concern. the tire was properly inflated. the sears representative will report the incident to bridgestone for resolution of tire failure. if i can be of further assistance, please contact me. thank you very much.*ak (dot number: elytcaf017 tiresize: 205/70r15) |
