Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Head previously (8/13/01) reported to you the refusal of the dealer/mfg. to replace an inoperative seat belt buckle that is part of the passive motorized seat belt assembly . requested $330 to repair/replace. by coincidence, the buckle on the driver's side assembly failed in exactly the same way only hours after initial report filed. while both buckles can be connected, they cannot easilyt be removed, and represent a dangerous safety hazard in the event of a crash. exiting the vehicle would be more difficult. believe that repair/replacement of buckles could be covered as part of lifetime warranty of vehicle restraint system. refusal to cover as warranty item is against spirit and intent of vehicle safety regulations. |
