| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: We experienced three separate blowouts on a trip rom phoenix, az to san ramon, ca. the first and third blowout totally disintegrated the tires with onl the partial sidewalls left attached to the rims. each blowout occurred in the rear "dually" tires, 2 on the right and 1 on the left, each one a firestone original equipment tire. the force of the third, right rear blowout damaged the tail pipe and subsequebtly caused heat damage to a luggage storage compartment resulting in melted luggage handles and obviously, almost a fire. after each blowout, we stopped and purchased and replaced with a winston (kelly springfield) tire and for the rest of the trip, we had o problem with the new tires, as the remaining firestones continued to blowout. *ak (tiresize: 225/75/16) |
