| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Original fuel pump was replaced 09/99 at approximately 37,000 miles. second fuel pump replaced 11/01 at 48,343 miles. both failures occurred after the hot wire inside the tank and attached to the fuel pump motor over heated, melted the wiring insulation and scorched the assembly housing and connectors. on the first failure the wire burned completely in to and the pump stopped suddenly. the present failure began intermittently and then failed permanently. it initially failed in heavy traffic on the freeway.*ak |
