Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Vehicle exhibited a number of warning lights,continuous running of the cooling fan and finally quit running. a smell of burning wires was noticeable in the passenger compartment. vehicle was towed to an authorized por sche dealership hwere i was advised of a defective wiring harness. the technician stated that it was a known problem as the harness tended to become brittle and a new type of harness would be installed.porsche agreed to cover the part but no labor. the burning of the harness also caused the electrical failure of the control head . my out of pocket repair costs were $2900.00.in talking with a representative from my selling dealer,reeves import motorcars in tampa florida, i learned that the wiring harness is a problem in the sunbelt states and that porsche is aware of the problem. raedgnos. *ak |
