Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: This vehicle has had a vibration since the day i picked it up. i was told to drive the vehicle for 1500 miles to 'round out' the tires at which point the dealership would rebalance the tires. this has been done and the problem persists. the steering column between the back of the steering wheel and the actual column emits a scraping noise. this vehicle is replacing a 2000 model that was returned to isuzu for the same conditions. the dealer replaced a part called a 'clock spring' in the 2000 model to fix the steering noise but it was ineffective. the dealer also repeatedly rebalanced the tires and eventually replaced the tires on the 2000 model none of which corrected the problem. the vehicle is also surging under acceleration. this problem is to be addressed this week. my primary concern is the vehicles safety at highway speeds. the vibration is prevalant in the steering wheel and the body of the vehicle and doesnt seem safe. *ak (tiresize: 245/70r16)
