Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Excessive engine oil use--1 1/2 qts per 2000. miles chevrolet advises that normal oil consumption is a qt every 700 miles????? chevrolet has a upgraded set of rings that stop the excessive consumption but they stonewall customers by telling them that consumption rates are normal at 1qt every 700 miles. is this not a safety issue since the excessive oil soaks the catalytic converter, thus causing a fire.*ak
