Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Oil leak noticed on driveway, dealer found passenger-side rear of head gasket leaking. dealer replaced head gasket at cost of $1300, however after researching this problem it is obvious that many other 1999 5.4l engines have this same problem recurring frequently. bought vehicle used and do not know if this component was already replaced prior to purchase (bought at 41k miles). this specific head gasket failure is a common problem for these 1999 5.4l engines, my concern is that this will continue to recur due to defect in manufacturing.
