Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I own a national marlin rv after i purchased it i noticed that it had 235/80/r22.5 michelin on the rear and 265/80/r22.5 toyo on the front in 11/02 i had a blowout on the rear and in 01/03 i had another blowout on the rear the second blowout was when i was on the highway and it caused damage to my fender and battery compartment and nearly caused an accident the mechanic who fixed the flat told me to go to tci tire center bill lathrop told me that i will always have problems with the tires because the larger tires on the front causes the rv to be unlevel and shifts the weight distribution to the rear axle at my expense i bought four 255/r80/22.5 michelin tires for the rear of the rv for a total of 1511.56 i called national and they said that there was no recall of tires on this rv i went onto the internet and got an e-mail from matthew margolis who told me that there was no recall from national national tried to cover up this recall i found the recall on your web site i told them that i wanted to be reimbursed for the tires and the damage to my rv they said no my complaint is that national under rated the tires for the weight of the rv they then put larger tires on the front so that the blowouts would not kill anyone thinking that a blowout in the rear would not allow someone to lose control of the vehicle i did not know that this rv would have two different tires on it or that it would be unsafe to use on the road with the larger tires on the rear the rv rides level smoother and safer. *ak |
