Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: A safety recall was issued for my vehicle [xxx] in the spring of 2001 for engine head gaskets. i took my vehicle to my local ford dealership. a coolant pressure test was performed. it was determined that the head gaskets were not bad enough to warrant replacing at that time. in late may 2001 the engine froze up on my vehicle. i returned it to the ford dealership for the safety recall. the dealership replaced the engine with a remanufactured engine on 6/7/01. this head gaskets on this remanufactured engine have now failed in my vehicle. ford now claims that the remanufactured engine has a 24 month/24,000 mile warranty on it. the ford motor company refuses to fix the problem under their recall program. updated 07/30/2012 *js information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6) |
