Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Consumer states gas tank leaks. bmw dealer claimed this was a common problem, spiders crawled up the air hose causing it to explode. consumer lives in an urban area and rarely sees any spiders. upon inspection consumer found 2 spots on the hose and white substance probably caused by deterioration of the plastic tube. consumer also learned that there have been modifications in recent years to prevent gas tanks from imploding or exploding. *tt
