Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: We purchased a 2000 chevy s-10 in july 2002. immediately, the "check engine" light would come on during drives of more than 20 minutes. we had transmission work done in the fall. by december 2002, on a 4-hour trip home for christmas, the transmission blew out. we put in a brand new transmission on, but the same problems occur. if we drive more than 20 minutes, the light will come on and we will have hard shifts. parking the truck and letting it cool fixes the hard shift. but for 4 years we have owned a truck that we cannot drive for more than 20 miles. we have been back to the transmission shop, to no avail. the problem doesn't seem to be the transmission, itself. *jb |
