Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: The honda accord ignition switch recall in 2002 arrived the same day my wife had our 1999 honda die on her while driving on i-95. the engine suddenly dying (turn the key and it starts right up again) has happened a total of six times since then. each time we've taken it to our honda dealer. they eventually said to bring it in the next time it quits (without re-starting it) so they can find out what's wrong. how do i do that? the recall stated they would replace the ignition switch with a new improved one. only recently did i find out that the dealer only replaced the wiring (twice) and it continues to die. the dealer says it can't be the cylinder/tumbler (and i say it must be the tumbler) and that it would cost me about $380 to replace the complete ignition switch (which they should have done in the first place. honda should do something. too many people have had this happen to them! |
