| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: On 4-18-02 my wife was backing our 1999 lhs chrysler out of our drive onto a busy highway, the shifter cable on the transmission malfunctioned, leaving the vehicle stranded inn the middle of the highway. my mechanic called our local chrysler dealership to order the part and the service dept. told us that there was over 600 on backorder for the n.c. and va. service area. well, how many were in circulation before the supply ran out??? i called chrysler customer care about any recalls on the mannner and there were none and the person at chrysler said that it would not be recalled. i think this is a very dangerous situation and should be investigated. the vehicle can be stranded, unable to move, in some very dangerous situatuions and could harm the occupants.*ak |
