| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: While traveling the speed limit on an interstate highway, june 2, 2002, we had only traveled approximately 20 miles, when we experienced a tire explosion on the front driver's side. this caused us to lose control of our vehicle, crossing two lanes of traffic, and ending up in the median. before coming to a complete stop, the vehicle had traveled approximately 60 yards, turned sideways, and almost rolled. my excursion was up on two wheels, nearly rolling over. it stayed suspended in air for a few seconds before falling back down on all four wheels. no other vehicle was involved, and no physical injury was incurred. however, it endangered the life of my family, and traumatized my children. there needs to be a further investigation into firestone tires. there definitely is a problem there.*ak |
