Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Original battery leak appeared 03/03/2002, yamaha fixed under warranty. they replaced swingarm, shock (both acid damaged) and replaced battery. second battery leak appeared 07/12/2002. same problem. bike now out of warranty. contacted yamaha, they didn't seem to care. battery leaked on swingarm, chain, shock. chain could break because acid has been eating on it. yamaha has been non responsive. as far as i am concerned, they need to fix this problem, because the original repair only lasted 4 months. this could lead to a disaster beause battery is directly located under drivers seat, acid drips down onto chain which could break under load, and acid can get onto rear tire, causing an accident.*ak |
