| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Tread separation. no punctures, no flats, no strikes to tire. about 30 miles north of brady tx. temp about 80f, light rain. road was hard packed gravel under contruction. heard noise from rear of turck. slowed down but continued droving. a minute later a loud noise and the right rear tire was flat. did not swerve off road as our speed was only 30mph. pulled off road onto soft ground. changed to spare. replaced tire at del rio tx goodyear store on 6 july 2001. no signs of a nail or other puncture. no holes in sidewall. tread was completely separated from what looked like an inner tube. the side wall was gone due to the rim and the road after the loud noise. the goodyear dealer had no explanation for the failure. i am concerned that there may be a defect in either the tires or the truck, and this could happen again. i still have 4 original tires on the truck.*ak |
