| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: The failure of this bracket (fractured at top left corner) prevented complete disengagement of the engine from transmission, making stopping difficult, nearly caused an accident. in addition, this failure resulted in the inability to start the vehicle, as the safety start switch can no longer be operated by depressing the clutch pedal. as a temporary fix, i had to jump out the switch to use the vehicle until repairs could be made. the new bracket is different in design from the original, indicating that toyota recognizes the fault with the original unit. dt |
