Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: While taking vehicle through a routine emission. when mechanic states gas tank is not pressuring through the fuel line. mechanic stated there is no heat shield to protect gas tank, allowing gas tank to melt. consumer feels vehicle may blow up. mr the consumer was notified that the fuel line was worn, so the line was replaced, and the vehicle failed the emissions exam again due to pressurization in the fuel line. the vehicle was taken to the dealer again and was informed that where the gas tank was dropped, it had no heat shield, and had melted spots with two holes in the tank. the mechanic stated that this was a fire hazard, should not be driven until repaired, and a manufacturing issue. scc |
