Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I imported a 1986 chevrolet blazer. the customs person that inspected it "didn't understand" the dot tag so i had to take it to an ri. in addition, the dot rep said he didn't understand it either. one year and about 2500 dollars later i got my vehicle. what needed to be done? a key buzzer was installed. it operates when i have the key in the ignition and the door is open. how ridiculous. it almost appears that someone was trying to justify their job at dot. what is worse is there are thousands of these vehicles driving around today in the us without this modification. i was told this buzzer is an "anti-theft device". be serious, that does absolutely nothing except create alot of noise. someone needs to explain to me why it took so long, why this completely useless piece of hardware had to be installed and why no one at dot understands their own labels.*ak |
