| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I own a 1999 honda civic hx. i purchased the car last year and it had 29,000 miles. i took it for a tune up recently and the mechanic told me that there was something wrong with the transmission. my car was shifting from 1 to 3rd gear and missing 2nd gear. he consulted with a mechanic that has a transmission shop next door and he told me that no one will touch the transmission that i had to take it to the dealership. *ak i took my car to the dealership to get a diagnostic. i was told that the whole transmission needs to be replaced and the cost would be around $7,000.00. it doesn't make sense for me to spend that kind of money on a car that is worth slightly over that price. the worst part is that the transmission has been the same since i bought it. so the problem was there beforehand and now my car is not under warranty. i'm very upset about this whole ordeal. i'm not the only one dealing with this situation. i've gone on different websites and other honda owners are having similar problems with their transmissions. i really hope your agency investigates this situation nd look into this problem. if honda produced defective transmissions they should do a recall. why should the consumers have to pay for a defective item? |
