| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Motorcycle has developed a slip in 1st and in 2nd gear. i went to yamaha at about 7500 miles and complained. they tried to say i was too rough on the bike. both gears about 8500 rpm jumps to 8750 rpm and catches again and then at about 9500 it slips to 9750-10000 rpm. initially, i thought the problem was simply not enough tension on the clutch so i adjusted the cable. finally, i convinced another business with a rear-wheel dyno to load it up and clearly saw the instant jumps i had been complaining about. yamaha still denies any problems. oddly enough, another cycle repair shop commented to me they were surprised i managed to keep the rear tire (very soft) on the bike to 11,250 miles when most get replaced at roughly 9000. guess i'm too tough on it. |
