| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: My 2001 ford ranger 3.0 liter automatic has a lot of pre-ignition under load, regardless of outdoor temperature. i have had 2 different dealerships say there is no way to change the timing to relieve the symptoms. an independant shop told me that that there was a ford technical service bulletin addressing the issue. he said that the problem comes from a control module that changes the engine timing as needed for maximum performance. is there such a cure for me? *jb |
