| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: The fuel sending unit on my truck is defected. the fuel gauge is sporadic. it jumps from full to empty whether it is full, or half-full, or near empty. i've talked with several chevrolet/gmc truck owners who have the same problem. on a chevrolet internet forum (http://www.gm-trucks.com), the majority of chevrolet/gmc truck-owners have reported the same failure. some have replaced the sending unit and the problem was remedied. i have not fixed the problem due to the cost of replacing the unit and the labor required to do so. i believe that with a problem so wide-spread, the device is defective and should be recalled.*jb |
