| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I have a 1999 silverado extended cab truck. starting about three years ago i noticed that the anti-lock brakes would engage when driving at slow speeds and going over a bump...with my foot on the brake pedal. when this occurs, it seems as if i have no stopping power at all. i have not had an accident, but i have certainly come close. because of this, i am very careful when applying brakes in a bumpy area. as you can see, i live in south carolina. however i am from wisconsin and have made monthly trips over the last three years, lasting 7-14 days, due to the illness of my mother. my truck has been subjected to salt covered roads on many occasions. i understand that the recall gm has agreed to only affects northern states. it is my hope that you will re-think this recall and take into consideration that people do travel with their vehicles. by the way, we do use salt in south carolina as well. *nm |
