Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: 2001 hyundai sante fe. when filling the gas tank, there seems to be some sort of venting problem that causes overflow of gasoline down the side of the vehicle. this occurs every time i fill up at any gas station unless i am very careful and fill the tank very very slowly. even then it sometimes overflows. basically, it seems as though a pressure is built up within the tank and when the gas pump cuts off, it is too late. the car seems to sort of "vomit" about a cup or so of gas out of the filler hole and down the side of the vehicle and onto the ground. it seems very dangerous to me and scares me. as a result, i always have to fill up very carefully and fill the tank as slowly as possible once it is over about half full. i'm afraid this could result in a fire at the gas station. *jb |
