| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: My 1999 dodge intrepid's 2.7 motor failed after hearing a loud ticking from the motor. it was later diagnosed as a timing chain failure from oil sludge buiidup. the motor was rebuilt at a cost of $3,000.00 canadian. i have since had intermittent oil light flashing at idle roughly 20,000 km's after the rebuild without incident. currently the car is still in operation and oil light doesn't come on. the car had 130,000km's at the time of the motor failure and currently has 184,000 km's on it. it was considered out of warranty and no help was offered through calls and letters to chrysler customer service and the canadian president odf daimler chrysler at the time ed brust. i am a chrysler employee and got this website from forums@autobytel.com, a 2.7 chrysler motor complaint site. thanks for any help, jim kainz. *nm |
