Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Vehicle was idling in neutral gear. the engine caught on fire and blew a hole in the motor. *ak the police officer that was dispatched to the scene looked under the vehicle and noticed a large hole in the right front side of the oil pan. he then observed about a quart of oil on the ground. in his opinion, the cause of the fire was due to low oil which caused the engine to come apart and run through the oil pan. *ph. the mechanic stated the problem may have been caused by the automatic transmission fluid. *jb
