Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Egr valve & oxygen sensors problem the above mentioned items have been identified as a problem with these vehicles by dealer & private mechanics. a service bulletin was sent out in 1997 with a summary that provides if nothing else a temporary fix. i have spent several hundred dollars fixing this problem over the last 5 years and would like to have some type of reimbursement, preferably a recall to have it fixed permanently. i have viewed others comments on this vehicle and it is an overall problem. seems like the manufacturer is not taking any responsibility. since your questions below do not prvide room for explanation in the crash column, i would like to remind everyone that when these valves get clogged up the vehicle literally seizes. just stops, nice thought! my personal mechanic has recommended that when the vehicle starts clugging (as it will), prior to seizing up & just stopping in the middle of the road, (as it has already done), bring it in, (we will clean it out). who's fault will an accident be? that repair could be to the tune of $100.00 depending on if anything else was affected by this. this problem has been identified, and still nothing is done about it. currently we are a two car family with 2 teenagers in the market. chevrolet dealers will not be on my list to visit. for this problem you would need a reacurring incident date.*ak |
