Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: My 2001 yamaha r6 is leaking battery acid all over my swingarm, shock, chain and footrest. yamah will not recall this defective battery problem, although they have redesigned the batter with the vent holes in a different place to prevent the battery acid leak problem. they are hoping that the problem will occur after the 1-year warranty is expired so they can refuse to pay to replace the damaged parts and defective battery. yamaha has a design flaw and it should be covered whether the warranty has expired or not. a faulty design should not be a warranty issue, but a recall issue. my $8000 motorcycle was in perfect condition and now it is ruined due to this problem, and my resale value is substantially effected. *ak |
