Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I purchased a suzuki 1500 intruder, with 2500 miles, inmay, from the original owner. it has popped out of 4th gear numerous times, under moderate to hard acceleration, as in, entering an freeway, on the ramp, trying to get up to speed to merge. also extremely dangerous when passing a vehicle on a 2-lane divided highway(country road). i hope the engine hasn't been hurt, by being overeved. if you drive a car, can you imagine flooring it to get on the freeway, then having someone shift it into neutral!!! not good! i manage an automotive transmission shop, so i have knowledge of how it works etc. there must be a weak part, too much endplay, bad shift fork etc. i have tried to shift it different ways, hold it in etc. to no avail. this situation needs attention, someone is going to get hurt, i fear. i know it's not from abuse, wear etc. bad right out of the box! it seems to be more prevelant in the 2000 model year? i've a suzuki fan, and have owned "6"uzuki's. i hope they take the oppurtunity to correct this. it's a good motorcycle. *ak |
