| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: My axel broke on my 1986 vw golf while i was driving @25mph...it locked up the front drivers side wheel on a incline...i rolled it back down the hill and off the road (except for about 6 inches was on tar) to the left side...because i had no knowledge of what was wrong with the wheel i didn't dare move it any farther...i called my hubby right away and he was there within 30 mins. he saw it needed to be towed so we headed home in his car to call a tow truck! we got home within an hour and called for a tow truck! by the time hubby called a truck i saw a flatbed in town with my car on it and figured it was the one that hubby called! i got home at 6:30pm and my car was not there at the house! hubby called the tow guy and he called back saying that there was no car there! i called the police to report it stolen and they told me that it had been picked up cuz it was on a dangerous curve in the way! the police didn't make a report and didn't get in touch with us at all but when we called about it they knew it all! before i run out of room here i want to say what law says that the police or anyone else have the right to move my car in anyway from where it is when...they don't give you any time to get it yourself...it was on a dead end road that no one travels except the people who live there...it was mostly off the road and there was a note left in the car saying gone for tow be right back...what law says it's ok to do that cuz now i have 2 towing fees and a storage to pay for and all the police would say to me is "too bad so sad"! thanks in advance...nancy cudmore. *ak |
