Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: My 2000 oldsmobile intrigue with the 3.5l motor overheated. i had the vehicle towed to my dealer and after a week was advised the motor had to be removed and the heads pulled. apparently due to the reaction between the steel head bolts and the aluminum motor, the threads corroded and gave way allowing the head gaskets to leak. since the car had 113,000 miles on it, it was past warranty though i feel gm should have put some type of coating on the bolts to keep this corrosion from occuring. cost in this case approached $4,000. *ak |
